The uterus is that special space in the body that can grow new people. For the many women who do not want to become pregnant, and the many women who struggle with fertility, the uterus can be a site of pain and frustration. Whether we like it or not, it's hard not to be impressed by all the uterus can do.
The uterus is made up of thick muscle that wraps around it in spirals. This means it can squeeze down in any direction. We can thank these muscles for labor pains and period cramps. They are strong and powerful, and do their job amazingly well.
